Healthy teeth and gums begin with excellent care. For young children, excellent care begins with a welcoming atmosphere. Happy visits to the dentist are a combination of good timing & top-notch care.
We make every effort to arrange appointments for the entire family at the same time of day, so please let us know if morning or afternoon is best when scheduling your appointments.
Healthy teeth and gums don’t impact just oral health—they have a positive effect on one’s overall health. When oral hygiene is poor, your body’s natural defenses are weakened. That’s why it’s so important to promote good oral hygiene from a young age!
Among the children’s services we offer is different levels of sedation for major dental work with Dr. Wailan Chan who only treats children, low-dose digital X-rays, and laughing gas to reduce anxiety.
-
Here at Miller Goodman dentistry we’d like to make your experience as comfortable as possible. As we offer mild and moderate sedation options for minor treatments we now also offer Deep Sedation or “Sleep Dentistry” for those more involved procedures. Our sedation team provides deep sedation for anything from an extraction, biopsy to full arch dental implants and wisdom teeth extractions.

Dental bonding is a cosmetic dental procedure in which a tooth-colored resin material is applied to the surface of teeth to repair minor imperfections such as chips, cracks, gaps, discoloration, or uneven tooth shapes. The resin is carefully sculpted, molded, and then hardened using a special light (usually ultraviolet).
This procedure is quick, non-invasive, and typically doesn’t require anesthesia unless bonding is being used to fill a decayed tooth. It’s often chosen for its affordability and ability to improve the appearance of teeth in a short time.
The results of dental bonding can last several years but may require touch-ups or replacements due to wear, staining, or breakage.

Dental inlays are custom-made restorations used to repair teeth with moderate decay or damage, particularly when the damage is too extensive for a simple filling but not severe enough to require a full crown. They are typically used for the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (molars and premolars).
Inlays are made from materials like porcelain, composite resin, or gold and are designed to fit precisely into the grooves of a tooth. They are bonded to the tooth, restoring its strength, structure, and function. Since inlays are custom-made in a dental lab, they provide a more durable and natural-looking alternative to regular fillings, especially for larger cavities.
This type of restoration is known for being long-lasting and less prone to shrinkage or wear compared to traditional fillings.
Dental crowns are caps that are placed over a damaged, decayed, or weakened tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. They cover the entire visible portion of the tooth above the gum line and are typically used in cases where a tooth is too damaged for a filling or inlay to repair.
Crowns can be made from a variety of materials, including:
• Porcelain or ceramic: These offer a natural tooth color, making them ideal for front teeth.
• Metal (such as gold or alloy): These are durable and long-lasting, often used for molars that are less visible.
• Porcelain fused to metal: This combines the strength of metal with the natural appearance of porcelain.
• Resin: These are more affordable but less durable and prone to wear over time.
Dental crowns are often used to:
• Protect a weak tooth from breaking.
• Restore a tooth that’s already broken or severely worn down.
• Cover a tooth after a root canal treatment.
• Support a tooth with a large filling when there isn’t much natural tooth left.
• Hold a dental bridge in place or cover a dental implant.
Crowns are long-lasting, durable, and designed to mimic the appearance and function of natural teeth.

A soft tissue diode laser is a type of dental laser used primarily for procedures involving the soft tissues of the mouth, such as the gums. It emits a concentrated beam of light that can cut, vaporize, or reshape soft tissues with great precision, offering several advantages over traditional dental tools like scalpels.
Here are some common uses for a soft tissue diode laser in dentistry:
• Gum reshaping or contouring: For improving gum aesthetics, especially in cases of a “gummy smile.”
• Treating gum disease: To remove diseased tissue and bacteria from gum pockets.
• Frenectomy: To correct issues caused by an overly tight frenulum (the small fold of tissue under the tongue or lip).
• Removing soft tissue growths: Such as benign tumors or lesions in the mouth.
• Crown lengthening: To expose more of the tooth structure when needed for restorative procedures.
The benefits of using a diode laser include:
• Minimally invasive: Procedures typically result in less bleeding and swelling compared to traditional methods.
• Faster healing: Lasers seal blood vessels and nerve endings, leading to quicker recovery and reduced discomfort.
• Precision: The laser can target specific areas without affecting surrounding tissues.
• Reduced need for anesthesia: In many cases, anesthesia is either not required or used in smaller amounts.
This technology improves patient comfort and enhances the precision of soft tissue treatments in dentistry.

Invisalign aligners are a less noticeable alternative to metal braces for correcting crooked or crowded teeth, overbites, and gaps between teeth.
-
Having veneers added to teeth is an excellent way to perfect your smile.
Veneers are very thin shells that are attached to the front part of teeth. They are often made of porcelain or composite resin. Porcelain veneers are stronger than composite resin veneers and do not change colour or stain. Generally, porcelain veneers take at least 2 dental visits to apply and composite resin veneers can be done in 1 visit. Porcelain veneers generally last longer than composite resin veneers.
